Compensation:
Salary schedule based on teacher contract, previous teaching experience and education.

License Requirement:
Current Minnesota Teaching License in Elementary Education.

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The SOAR teacher assists students during the summer months through a distance learning model using Schoology.
 
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
 

  1. Provide asynchronous online reading and math instruction.
  2. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
  3. Responds to student’s and families’ questions about the lessons within 24 hours of receipt during the work week (Monday – Friday).
  4. Provide technical assistance.
  5. Participate in meetings and planning days.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
 
Required:

  1. Current Minnesota Teaching License in Elementary Education.
  2. Working knowledge of SeeSaw and comfortable assisting students via distance learning.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm to support students through innovative instruction.
  5. Ability to collaborate and problem solve across different stakeholders.
  6. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  7. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  8. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
