The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Attain program located at the 401 Education Center.

The ATTAIN (Academics & Transition Tools to Achieve Independence for Students with Neurobiological Needs) Program serves students in grades 9-12. . 

Description:

Special Education Paraprofessional, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days. 
 
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works Individually or in small groups. 
 
Pay & Benefits: 
The starting pay is $20.00/hr and based on education and experience. A competitive and comprehensive benefit package is also available.
You also have the opportunity to earn up to $4.80 more per hour when completing continuing education. Benefits are available beginning the first of the month following the date of hire.  
 
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:
•          Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
•          The ability to obtain the PCS/CFSS certificate.
•          Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
•          Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
•          Must pass a background check.
•          Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
