Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works Individually or in small groups.

School Social Worker

Provides direct and indirect social work services to students, as indicated on students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP’s). Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments, services, resources and referrals. Services are designed to improve social skills, assist with problem solving, provide behavior management skills, and understand how mental health issues impact students’ education.

The Ascent Program serves students at our River Valley Education Center in grades 6-8. Ascent is an Emotional/Behavioral Program (EBD).
