Head Dance Coach

POSITION:  Head Competative Dance Coach

START:  October 2024

HOURS:  Vary based upon practice and meet times.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  To develop student-athletes of character through competitive dance in Mahtomedi High School’s inaugural MSHSL dance season; to instruct dancer’s technique and provide physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Must be able to adjust work for competitions and practices. Complete Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Head Coaching Course before October, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous experience working with high school age students. An extensive dance background, strong experience with choreography and performance. An understanding of the MSHSL scoring system is preferred, or the ability to learn the MSHSL scoring system is required. Must have good communication and organizational skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, parents, community members and students.
