Media Specialist – Elementary

The Media Specialist provides leadership and expertise in creating a media program that is nurturing, joyful and inspiring for each learner. 

Candidates will possess the following skills and abilities:

Knowledge and effective implementation of Minnesota K-5 Media State Standards including technology integration

Knowledge of effective implementation of current researched best practices to meet students’ academic and social emotional learning needs

Create a learning environment that is safe, respectful and engaging 

Provide classroom instruction and a learning environment that honors and affirms the race, ethnicity, gender and ability of all students

Support classrooms in identifying appropriate print and digital research resources for classroom projects

Procure and maintain an inventory of library and curriculum books, resources and materials

Willingness to effectively consult and collaborate with colleagues 

Media Specialists Licensure required.
