Facilities Director

Westonka School District has approximately 2,400 students, kindergarten through grade 12, served by over 190 teachers and 170 support staff. Westonka Community Education and Services offers classes for lifelong learners of all ages—infants to senior citizens. District facilities include an early learning center, two primary schools (PreK-grade 4), one middle school (grades 5-7), one high school (grades 8-12), an educational service center and a transportation facility.

Facilities Director
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Facilities Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operations of the buildings including: Supervision and work direction of all custodial staff to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all buildings and facilities. Overseeing cleaning; facilities maintenance; monitoring and inspection of capital improvement projects within the district; coordination of District safety programs; monitoring department expenditures and budget; monitoring and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field preferred
  • 5 years job-related experience, school district experience preferred
  • Chief Engineer License preferred
  • Valid MN Driver’s License required
  • Staff and project management experience required
  • Knowledge of the operation of building management systems (e.g. security systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical) preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals, concepts and processes of planning and contracting of capital improvement projects preferred
  • Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures (e.g. purchasing, HR, accounting, records and data retention requirements) preferred
  • Knowledge of custodial procedures, requirements and operational requirements preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state health and safety codes and regulations, OSHA guidelines preferred
  • Knowledge of office administrative and recordkeeping principles, practices, and requirements  pertaining to assignment preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Work Calendar, Salary, and Benefits: The individual in this position will work a 260-day assignment. The salary range is $90,000 to $120,000 DOQ. The position also includes fringe benefits.
