QUALIFICATIONS:聽

Required:聽聽
BA in Child Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health, Nursing or related field聽

Preferred:聽
LMFT- Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, or聽
LPCC- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or聽
LICSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or聽
MA in Mental Health Related Field (School Counseling, Behavioral Health)聽
Minimally 5+ years of experience in clinical or school setting聽
Experience with early learners (PK-5) and early child development聽聽
Knowledge of mental health crisis prevention, response and intervention聽

POSITION SUMMARY:聽
The Triage Specialist will support coordinating the mental health needs of District #742 students who are in urgent need of mental health care.聽 Triage specialists serve as a liaison between schools, families and community partners/resources. Triage specialists also support district-wide crisis response, mental health professional development, and suicide prevention.聽聽聽

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:聽
Support students by providing:聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Timely access to psychiatric evaluations at the CentraCare Child and Adolescent Specialty Center聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Timely access to diagnostic assessments at area community agencies that are partnering with the MHTAS聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Liaison between community agencies currently utilized by referred students聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Liaison between school staff and mental health services within the community聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assistance in setting up appropriate mental health services for students and families聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assistance with transportation to mental health appointments as need is determined聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Guidance with application for further insurance coverage as need is determined聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordination of suicide prevention and awareness聽

Support schools by providing:聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Crisis response as needed聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mental Health Professional Development聽

PHYSICAL FACTORS:聽聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing聽聽聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Light Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects聽聽聽
