Teacher – Elementary

Elementary school teachers at Wilshire Park bring their talents, passion and knowledge to our collaborative school environment in order to help students succeed and know that they matter. We believe that when we value and create partnership with students, families and colleagues we increase our ability to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of students. Wilshire Park Elementary school is committed to providing an engaging, culturally responsive learning experience where all students are able to meet academic standards and be a positive member of our learning community. 

A successful candidate will be able to:

Develop a joyful student-centered learning environment where all students feel welcomed, celebrated and know that they belong

Provide both high expectations and high support to all students in order for them to meet academic standards

Work collaboratively with grade level colleagues to develop and implement culturally responsive learning units 

Collaborate with multilingual, interventionist and special education teachers to meet the needs of all students

Effectively communicate and build strong relationships with families

Be a warm-demander of students and colleagues

Engage in professional development and learning with colleagues in order to make research-based decisions to improve our collective practice

Make data-based classroom level decisions

Demonstrate professionalism and contribute to a healthy school culture
