East Ridge High School Credit Recovery Teacher (Multiple Positions)
Program Dates: June 16 – June 28, 2024 (no class 6/19)
Anticipated Schedule: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

 

Compensation:

Salary schedule based on Teacher’s Contract.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Credit Recovery teachers work within classrooms delivering required high school course work. Teachers must be knowledgeable of the needs and goals of students from a wide range of ability levels.

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Teach designated curriculum assigned to students for credit recovery.

  2. Collaborate and communicate with Great Rivers Adult Education staff.

  3. Administer and monitor curriculum and post-tests on site.

  4. Enter daily attendance.

  5. Communicate with parents, counselors, case managers, and administrators regarding student status.

  6. Connect with and encourage all students to succeed.

  7. Provide notepaper or guided notes, and request all students take notes during tutorials.

  8. Check the entire course for mastery-level completion and fill out a credit completion form.

  9. Report any concerns to site administration and Great Rivers team.

  10. Interact and work one-on-one with students during the entire credit recovery class.

  11. Other duties as assigned.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

Required:

  1. Minnesota Teaching License: 5-12 or 9-12 Math, English, Science, or Special Education. 

    1. Hiring needs: 4 English, 3 Science, 2 Math, 2 Social Studies, 2 SPED teachers

  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.

  3. Experience teaching core subjects in multi-level classrooms.

  4. Prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.

  5. Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, Microsoft Word, and Google docs.

  6. Communicate with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.

  7. Demonstrate an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

  8. Special Education teachers: Familiarity with student IEPs to lead successful adherence to accommodations and modifications.

 

Desired:

  1. Trained in Edmentum/PLATO web based curriculum.

  2. Experience working with diverse students with varied educational backgrounds, capabilities, and learning styles.
