Summary
School Garden Assistants will work hard to grow fresh, nutrient-dense fruits + vegetables for the
District’s Summer Feeding and School Lunch programs throughout the summer growing season
(June, July, and August). The produce harvested will also be used to facilitate lessons during
student garden visits and help meet the needs of our local Food Shelf. Those hired will work
with the advisor to set a schedule that fits their needs while helping the team achieve its weekly
goals. Please expect to work 10-15 hours per week for 12 weeks. Students interested in
gardening as a life skill, wellness goal, or career choice are encouraged to apply but no
gardening experience is necessary. Candidates should be self-motivated, possess a strong
work ethic, and enjoy time outdoors.
