The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has openings for Special Education Teachers for the Extended School Year, at various programs across our district.

Educate, plan, teach, facilitate, and evaluate students.

  • River Valley Education Center – Jordan, MN
    • Dates:  July 8th – August 1st
    • Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm
  • Dean Lakes Education Center – Shakopee, MN 
    • Dates:  July 8th – August 1st
    • Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm
  • St. Boni – St. Bonifacius, MN 
    • Dates:  July 8th – August 1st
    • Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm
  • 401 Building (ESY and Compensatory Ed.) – Chaska, MN  
    • Dates:  July 8th – August 1st
    • Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm and 8:00am-3:00pm
  • Waseca Central – Waseca, MN 
    • Dates:  June 10th – July 3rd
    • Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm

Pay & Benefits: 
Current teachers will be paid their hourly teacher rate of pay provided they are performing services described in the Teacher contract.
 
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:

  • EBD, DCD, ASD, or ABS license preferred (Open to Tier 2 License Eligible Candidates).
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.
  • Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Restrictive Procedures is required and provided by the District.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
