Kindergarten Special Education Teacher – Multi-Categorical
Full Time Position
Beginning the 2024-25 School year

Job Summary:
This position is a kindergarten special education teaching position supporting students with special needs in multiple categories including EBD, ASD, SLD , PI, and Developmental Delay.  The teacher will provide direct service to students identified as qualifying for Special Education services. 

Licensure:  

  • Current Special Education teaching license for the State of Minnesota
  • Licenses prefered include ECSE, ABS, or EBD

Essential Skills Required:

  • Work with students that have Developmental Delay, Autism, Emotional Behavioral Disorder, and other disabilities
  • Collaborates and works closely with a team of special education teachers and related services staff (Speech, DAPE, etc)
  • Implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education
  • Follow and implement all due process and timeline requirements in special education
  • Will oversee the work of paraprofessionals
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
  • Excellent attendance
  • Must obtain and maintain Handle with Care training (district provided)
  • Knowledge and application of technology and assistive technology
  • Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students, families and staff
  • Experience working with diverse students and families
