Centrally located less than 25 miles Northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles Southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to six brick and mortar schools and two nature based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Monticello consistently ranks in the top 50 school districts in the state as measured by a number of organizations and metrics, and performs above the state average in graduation rates, test scores, and early college opportunities.

Special Education DCD/ASD Teacher – Setting 2-3
Eastview Education Center – Kindergarten
Full time (1.0 FTE) position
Beginning 2024-2025 school year
 
Licensure:

  • Current teaching license for the State of Minnesota for Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD/DD), Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD), Developmental Disabiities (DD), or ABS

 
Essential Skills Required:

  • Work with students that have multiple disabilitiess including Developmental Delay, Autism, Developmental Cognitive, and/or Severely Multiply Impaired Disabilities
  • Collaborates and works closely with a team of special education teachers and related services staff (Speech, DAPE, etc)
  • Implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education
  • Follow and implement all due process and timeline requirements in special education
  • Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs, and strategic plan of the district
  • Inspires and engages all students in relevant learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students, families and staff
  • Must obtain and maintain Handle with Care certification (provided through district)
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
  • Experience working with diverse students and families
