Job Summary:Â Are you a recent education graduate, retired educator, or experienced professional with a passion for working with school-age children? Join our team as a Program Staff Lead (Teacher), and play a vital role in creating a fun and enriching summer experience for children in PreK through Grade 5. As part of our team, you will plan and implement developmentally and age-appropriate activities, supervise children using effective classroom management techniques, create a warm and welcoming environment for students and families, maintain cleanliness and safety, and set clear rules and expectations within the classroom. Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement engaging summer activities for school-age children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Supervise children in PreK through Grade 5, utilizing appropriate student and classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and families, building positive relationships and a sense of community.

Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the classroom, including sanitization and organization of materials and equipment.

Set clear rules and expectations for behavior within the classroom, promoting a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Effectively communicate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and high school staff, collaborating to meet the needs of students and support their learning and development.
Qualifications:

Fun, nurturing, and caring demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with children.

Highly organized and flexible, able to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.

Experience in child care is appreciated, showcasing your understanding of the needs and interests of school-age children.

Two years of college experience in a related field, such as education or child development, is preferred, demonstrating your academic background and commitment to the field.

First-aid and CPR certification is preferred, highlighting your commitment to the safety and well-being of children.

Work experience with school-age children (ages 5-12) is desirable, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge.

Experience preparing and serving snacks is advantageous, contributing to the nutritional needs of students.

Knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children, facilitating effective engagement and support.

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Ability to self-direct and provide direction to teaching assistants and high school staff within the classroom, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
