GET PAID FOR PLAYING! Byron Project Kids is seeking Student Assistants to work during the summer and beyond. We are looking for candidates that can start as soon as possible. Student Assistants (SAs) interact with and monitor children during various activities (e.g. play activities indoors as well as outside, field trips, snack time, homework, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment. They act as mentors for children in the program. SAs support Program Assistants with daily activities as well as planning for future activities. They help maintain program materials and work areas. SAs must attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings. A job description is included with this posting.
Candidates must be in HIGH SCHOOL and 15 years of age or older to apply for the Student Assistant position. Hourly wage scale starts at $12.00 per hour. During the summer months, hours will be up to 20-40 per week and hours will be scheduled between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. During the school year, SAs are typically scheduled to work from after school, 3:15 pm up to 5:45 PM Monday through Friday. They also work at Project Kids on non-school days. While Project Kids will work around activities such as sports or theater, our Student Assistants typically need to be available at least 3 days per week when not in an extra curriculur activity.
