East Grand Forks School District is seeking applicants for Paraprofessionals

East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 8,500 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district’s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

Compensation a per the Paraprofessional Master Agreement

Prior experience preferred by not required.
Beneficial skills include the ability to communicate and connect with students and families, team building skills.
The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, other district staff, students, and members of the public.
Possessing positive interpersonal skills.

Reporting Relationship: 
Paraprofessionals report to the Building Principal

Basic Function of the Position: 
The primary responsibility of the position will be supporting students under the direction and guidance of classroom teaching staff. Paraprofessionals play a pivotal role in supporting teachers, students and schools in achieving student success by helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Job Description:
Support classroom teachers in instructional activities and classroom management by offering individual or small group instruction, facilitating learning exercises, and reinforcing lesson concepts.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement student IEP and 504 plans.
Assist in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning aids to support teaching and learning objectives.
Monitor and assist in implementing student behavior management strategies, ensure safety and intervene in disciplinary situations as needed.
Supervise students in the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and during transitions between activities.
