Position Summary:
The Little Huskies preschool teacher will support 4 and 5 year olds in this summer learning experience. There are 16 student contact days, with additional time for set-up and close down of the summer program, plus daily professional preparation based on instructional time.
School Readiness provides a developmentally appropriate, play-based environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy and physical/motor development. Each class will serve 12-16 students with instruction occuring from 8:30-11:00, Monday through Thursday. Amount of positions available depends on student enrollment. Successful candidates must be available for the full 4-week assignment.
Qualifications:
A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood, with a 3-5 Pre-K endorsement is required. Understanding of MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels also required.
Position Requirements:
Successful experience in partnering with preschool families around preparing young children for preschool and kindergarten entry. Successful candidate must demonstrate ability to work as a team member in a culture of excellence to deliver programs that address the positive development of children and families in diverse populations. Demonstrated communication and organizational skills required.
FTE/Schedule:
4 hours of classroom prep prior to start of program
Class Hours 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Teacher Hours: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Mon-Thurs, July 8 – August 1
Pay Rate:
Based on Master Agreement
