Description

The Fergus Falls School District has an immediate opening for a hr/payroll specialist position. This position works 215 days (year round); 8 hours/day.
Pay range: $23.25-$26/hour depending on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
1.     High school graduate with two years of college or tech courses (accounting preferred).
2.     Demonstrated aptitude for office work and computer technology.
3.     Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
4.     Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to pay attention to details.
5.     Previous work experience in the area of accounting, payroll and/or HR preferred.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.

  1. Perform various office duties in a confidential manner, including all required reports, files and communications. 
  2. Assist with all aspects of onboarding of new hires, as directed.
  3. Monitor, assist and validate all TimeTracker and Frontline employee data.
  4. Coordinate all new staff and substitute staff files for proper documentation. Maintain active staff substitute list on Googledocs and Frontline Education System.
  5. Maintain a high level of confidentiality of all student and staff information as per stated data privacy laws.
  6. Work with the superintendent, finance director and HR director to compile information for negotiations.
  7. Enter employee data into software systems as assigned.
  8. Process yearly leave hours and set up new employees on leave systems.
  9. Assist with payroll coding and other duties to meet payroll deadlines.
  10. Process all workers’ compensation claims and maintain electronic files.
  11. Assist with recording certified staff transcripts for onboarding and lane changes, including lane change setup.
  12. Process all FMLA and COBRA documents and maintain database/records.
  13. Verify unemployment claims.
  14. Complete all W-2 requests and employment verifications.
  15. Participate in in-service training, as needed.
