HOURS: 6:30AM – 2:30PM (Straight 8)

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for custodial and maintenance functions at an Elementary School.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate and maintain boilers, HVAC equipment and other related mechanical equipment to include testing and monitoring water chemistry in boilers, towers etc.
- Operates building Energy Management System computer.
- Perform repairs as needed to building mechanical systems.
- Communicate, coordinate with and direct the work of other building B & G staff.
- Complete periodic reports/inspections as directed.
- Shovel snow and operate snow removal equipment.
- Prepares repair orders directed to the Building and Grounds Office.
- May contact vendors based on specific guidelines and directives.
- Respond to needs of building occupants.
- Perform and maintain custodial operations within the building, under the direction of supervisors and the building principal.
- Inspect equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1C Engineer License required.
- Three years custodial experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully in written and oral format.
- Able to operate common hand, power tools and job specific equipment.
- Knowledge of standard safety procedures.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and positive can-do attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively respond to changing situations and take charge.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, EMS and work order system.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
