HOURS:                                           6:30AM – 2:30PM (Straight 8)

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
This position is responsible for custodial and maintenance functions at an Elementary School.
 
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Operate and maintain boilers, HVAC equipment and other related mechanical equipment to include testing and monitoring water chemistry in boilers, towers etc.
  2. Operates building Energy Management System computer.
  3. Perform repairs as needed to building mechanical systems.
  4. Communicate, coordinate with and direct the work of other building B & G staff.
  5. Complete periodic reports/inspections as directed.
  6. Shovel snow and operate snow removal equipment.
  7. Prepares repair orders directed to the Building and Grounds Office.
  8. May contact vendors based on specific guidelines and directives.
  9. Respond to needs of building occupants.
  10. Perform and maintain custodial operations within the building, under the direction of supervisors and the building principal.
  11. Inspect equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
 
Required:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1C Engineer License required. 
  3. Three years custodial experience.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully in written and oral format.
  5. Able to operate common hand, power tools and job specific equipment.
  6. Knowledge of standard safety procedures.
  7. Demonstrated organizational skills and positive can-do attitude.
  8. Demonstrated ability to effectively respond to changing situations and take charge.
  9. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  10. Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, EMS and work order system.
  11. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  12. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  13. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
