Effective immediately, South St. Paul Schools is hiring for an Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Teachers/Substitutes for Early Childhood Special Education

  • ECSE Licensed Staff Hours: 9:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. (2.0 hours/day).
  • The rate of pay for this position is $31.50/hour.

Specific job duties include:

  • Review and target instruction to meet identified needs and IEP goals. 
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
  • Collect and progress monitor students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Complete progress reports for assigned students.
  • Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
  • Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
  • Direct the work of assigned special education paraprofessionals. 
  • Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
  • Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
  • Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students

Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required. Include close vision.
