Business Teacher
The Rockford Area Schools enjoy the small school setting with around 1550 students in grades K-12 (500 HS students), and provides challenging opportunities for students as a certified Internation Baccalaureate IB school.  The High School provides college level coursework and career pathway options for students.  Our students are highly motivated and often participate in multiple activities which keep them engaged and committed to the school and community. 

Position Description
The applicant would have the ability to partner with administration to plan course offerings that best match the student’s intersts and needs.  Classes previously offered include:  Accounting, Marketing, Intro to Business, Personal Finance, Computer Applications, DP Business Management, Personal & Professional Skills, Web Design and Career Exploration. 

The Business Teacher advises our DECA programs and plays a key role in facilitating community partnerships to offer students real-world experiences. The incoming teacher would benefits from strong student leadership support in this role.  

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN Business Education Teaching License or the ability to obtain an Out of Field Permission (OFP)

  • Experience and/or training in International Baccalaureate program preferred

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students

  • Ability to build or adjust curriculum according to MN Business standards and keep content current

  • Strong classroom management skills that develops a supportive classroom environment

$45,093 – $92,423 dependent on qualifications

Bargaining Unit:  Education Minnesota – Rockford , Master Agreement – Rockford

  • Single Coverage – District pays $740 toward premium 

  • Family Coverage – District pays $1400 toward premium 

  • District contributes $1,000 into HSA – if enrolled in high deductible plan

  • Flexible Spending Acct:  Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts

    Retirement:

  • The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Teachers Retirement Association pension plan

  • Employees may also elect to participate in Deferred Compensation Plan once continuing rights granted

  • Dental:  Single coverage – District pays sum that covers premium for employee only

    Life Insurance:  District provides $60,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance

    Long Term Disability:  District provided at no cost to the employee
