General Purpose of Job: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. The Multilingual Summer Academy is a five-week program designed to engage multilingual learners at the elementary school level in learning opportunities to enhance their language skills and life experiences through a variety of activities.  Bilingual Enrichment Instructors may also work with students in our middle and high school summer EL programs.

Responsibilities:   

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.  Must be fluent in both English and Hmong. Level of language proficiency required: able to read, write, and speak all styles and forms of the language fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs. Proficiency level must be equivalent to that of a native professional.  Ability to effectively interpret and translate complex information to bilingual students and families.  

Desired Qualifications:

  • FTE:    Hourly, approximately 7-8 hours/day; 4 days/week (M-Th), for five weeks. Staff hours may vary slightly. Enrichment instructor rate of pay determined per salary guidelines
    Salary: Licensed teachers (Schedule D of the teachers contract); $24/hour for non-licensed staff
    Employment Dates: June 17, 2024 – July 18, 2024, with some pre-program planning and meetings the week of June 10th
