Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Special Education Work Based Learning Teacher at Roseville Area High School. This is a .41 FTE position in our Federal Setting 1, 2, and 3 program classrooms starting August 26, 2024.

The Work Based Learning Special Education Teacher will assist students in gaining knowledge, skills and work habits that increase their potential for career and college success. A Special Education Work Based Learning Teacher would closely supervise the worksite activities of students and is responsible for all the paperwork associated with this experience (training plans, agreements, safety training, seminar class, performance evaluations, record keeping, site observation, etc.).  This person would create work experiences for high needs students within the school building or community.  Case managment of students and due process is also a part of this role.

The licensed Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction aligned to the state standards to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; follows state-mandated due process procedures and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students; collaborates with service providers and other staff; communicates regularly with parents/guardians; schedules students and paraprofessionals; and supervises paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:

  

  • Minnesota Work Based Learning endorsement license
  • Minnesota Special Education licensure required; Special Education DCD licensure preferred.
  • Experience case managing students.
  • Commitment to an equitable and inclusive education experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.

Compensation:  Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $49,171 (prorated based on FTE – see attached matrix).
