1.0 FTE Technology Education (Tech Ed) position with a focus on Computer Science opening at Shakopee High School beginning in the Fall of 2024

Shakopee High School is an Academy school focusing on post-secondary planning which include trades, careers, and post-secondary education. Offering a wide variety of PLTW Engineering and vocationally based courses. We are looking for instructors that are highly motivated and looking to engage students in the areas of computer sciences, robotics, traditional shop classes and engineering focused courses as we prepare students for their future. Job Summary:

  • Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student’s ability
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth
  • Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members
  • Courses offered at Shakopee High School include: small gas engines, welding, manufacturing and construction, super high-mileage vehicle, construction management, electricity; Engineering classes include: introduction to engineering, engineering design & development, principles of engineering, civil & architectural engineering, and aerospace engineering; other classes include: computer integrated manufacturing, AP computer science principles, computer hardware & software, cyber security, mobile app & web development, and technological innovations. All of these classes are taught on a block schedule – 86 minute classes. Please find more information by clicking here about courses taught at SHS.

Qualifications:

  • MN teaching license in Technology Education
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
