Teacher – Reading Interventionist
.4 FTE 
Begins: 8-26-2024
New Teacher Orientation: August 19-21, 2024
Per Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Elementary Teaching license required.
K-12 Reading license preferred. 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Minnesota teaching license.
  • Extensive knowledge, training and experience in reading interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Preferred 3 years working directly with students with reading difficulties.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Ability to consult collaboratively with teaching and non-certified staff.
  • Ability to provide training for teaching and non-certified staff.   

 JOB GOALS:            Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.  Maintain a strong commitment to help all children succeed by using the data practices utilized in the MTSS Framework.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate the district’s literacy intervention program within a building.
  2. Implement reading intervention strategies.
  3. Collaborate with building principals, RTI coordinator, other intervention specialists and teachers to identify the needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students by utilizing data.
  4. Assist in the scheduling and assignment of students to the tiered intervention program.
  5. Attend grade level meetings and assist teachers with collection of data, analysis of data results and share findings with pertinent stakeholders.
  6. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy interventions to students in grades K-5.
  7. Prepare, organize, and maintain intervention materials.
  8. Monitor the progress of students receiving intervention.
  9. Attend Problem Solving Team meetings.
  10. Guide and collaborate with paraprofessionals who provide interventions.
  11. Attend professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content.
  12. Consult with MTSS Coordinator.
  13. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
