Job Summary:
The TOSA will lead communication and coordination of the various operations of FOCUS. The TOSA must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with administration, board members, community, and staff all while advocating for the wellbeing of our BIPOC staff and students. The TOSA must have a strong vision and understanding of equity work and community building. The TOSA must also have strong skills in grant writing and sustainability. The TOSA should also have a high level of knowledge regarding equity policy and professional development.

Qualifications:
- A valid MN Teaching license
- Commitment to equitable practices and an equitable experience for all.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence and community cultural wealth
- Participation in FOCUS for more than 1 academic year
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Grant Writer/Facilitator
Write grant to support the work of FOCUS and to retain BIPOC educators
Develop and administer grant budget
Prepare end of year report for grant
Collect and analyze data for grant
Report on the implementation and results of grant
Collaborate with various district personnel to administer and monitor grant work
Lead communications for Design and Policy teams of FOCUS
Lead collaboration of FOCUS planning teams in organizing/facilitating FOCUS meetings
Lead communicator of PD facilitators (this includes scheduling, paying, and coordinating)

Visionary
Co-create visions/goals/strategic plan with FOCUS
Support and implement FOCUS’s strategic goals
Collaborate with district administration and other departments to further the retention of BIPOC staff but allow them to flourish
Develop opportunities for BIPOC staff to strengthen their self-efficacy
Analyze past and present activities, examine what is possible, probable, and preferable, research changes and trends, and make proposals on how to move FOCUS forward -
Mentor/Collaborator/Co-Conspirator
Collaborate with administration, staff, school board and community members to establish and maintain relationships to advance the work of FOCUS
Lead coordinator for FOCUS mentoring program
Maintain the structure of FOCUS’s collective ways of working and building community
Continue to develop and implement a co-mentor model – mentoring within our communities of color
Encourage and develop leaders in BIPOC staff
Elevate BIPOC voices -
Community Cultural Wealth Broker
Show a strong understanding of their identity and how their community cultural wealth influences their ways of being
Create and facilitate opportunities for learners to explore and engage with their own community cultural wealth
Understand the value of community by working within a collaborative environment
Implement practices that restore authentic and holistic ways of being and knowing
Design and facilitate professional learning
Builds and sustains a strong relationship FOCUS community and are responsive to the needs of the community
Compensation: Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $49,171 (prorated based on FTE), plus a generous district contribution toward health and dental insurance.
