POSITION AVAILABLE:  Teacher

POSITION LOCATION:  Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) with placement at the ALC – Glencoe located in Glencoe, MN. 

POSITION SUMMARY:  Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering subject matter and skills that will contribute to student development and success as a responsible citizen.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:   Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and uses a variety of instructional techniques and media; establishes clear objectives and communicates these objectives to students; prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation; guides the learning process toward the achievement of Minnesota State Standards; assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, in a variety of ways, and maintains accurate records; provides progress reports as required by law; communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and to interpret the school program; seeks assistance and makes referrals, on a regular basis, to district specialists when learning difficulties are suspected; performs other duties as assigned.
 
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree required and MN Teacher licensure from MN Department of Education with proper license to teach High School Math, Science, English or Social Studies.  Must have good organizational and communication skills.
 
CONTRACT/SALARY:   185-day contract for the 2024-2025 school year.  Position to begin August 2024.  Beginning salary dependent upon education, qualifications and experience.  Excellent fringe benefits.
