Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking Summer School/ESY special education teachers for our Transition Assistance Program for the summer of 2024. Candidates should be appropriately licensed/certified as a teacher through the State of Minnesota or be eligible for tiered licensure. Candidates possessing multiple licenses, certifications, and/or endorsements are always preferred, but not mandatory.

This position runs during the following dates in July: 9-11, 16-18, 23-25

Class runs from 8am-12 pm with 30 additional minutes for prep, and another 4 hours for planning and progress reporting.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is a Hutchinson Public Schools educational program for young adults with disabilities ranging in age from 18-21 years. TAP is a community-based program emphasizing work experience and independent living skills. The TAP program assists in providing special education programming to increase a student’s ability to live and work as independently as possible. Services are provided in the areas of Jobs and Job Training, Recreation and Leisure, Community Participation, Home Living, and Post-Secondary Options. Currently, TAP is serving students from Hutchinson, Litchfield, Buffalo Lake-Hector, Glencoe-Silver Lake, and GFW school districts.
