Position Summary:
The Migrant Recruiter is responsible for the identification and recruitment of children and families in the Title I Migrant Education program. The Recruiter assists in assuring program goals are met and practices comply with Migrant Education Program Performance Standards and other program components. Hiring is dependent on enrollment. Recruitment will happen via distance/virtual meetings with families.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year degree preferred. Must be proficient in Spanish. Prior experience in migrant population “outreach work” with an established migrant service agency. Familiar with community resources available.
Language Skills:
Spanish required. Read, write, and comprehend, and interpret verbal and written information, including instructions, correspondences, and memos in English and Spanish. Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff in English and Spanish.
Other Skills & Abilities:
Provide a variety of suggestions in working with families and students. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff, students, and parents. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Consistent and reliable attendance.
Schedule:
* Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM [Recruiting begins as early as May 2023]
* Flexible based upon family arrivals. Some late afternoon/early evening appointments may be needed. Will need to work three evenings for Parent Meetings.
* Temporary position.
Classification / Pay Range:
B-2-3 – $20.45 – $24.64/hour
