Glencoe-Silver Lake School District #2859 is in immediate need for on-call, temporary individuals during the school year who are available to work when school district employees are absent.
Substitute Paraprofessionals: Duties may include assisting teachers in the classroom, working with students under a teacher’s supervision. Additional duties may include crossing guard duties before or after school, supervising on the playground during recess, and/or lunch room supervision. Current rate of pay is $14.98 per hour.
Preferred Skills of Applicants:
Ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions
Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means
Occasional lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required.
A high school diploma/GED for applicant of non certified positions
Substitute Teachers: Applicants must have a curent Teaching License or Short Call Substitute Teaching License through the Minnesota Department of Education. Current rate of pay is $140 full day/$70 half day.
If you are interested in becomming a short-call sub, a license application can completed through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Short call subsittute licenses are valid for three years. Initial fee for first-time applicantsis $90.00.
The District requires applicants, who receive an offer of employment, to submit to a criminal history background check.
