Description:

• Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers & Paraprofessionals for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) SPECTRUM Program located in Hokah, MN. 

Teacher Job Summary:

• Ability to adapt instruction to the varying educational and behavioral demands and needs of the students
• Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of students
• Ability to collaborate with and provide direction to paraprofessionals

Teacher Qualifications: 

• Minnesota Teaching Licensed issued by Minnesota Department of Education 
• Experience working with students/children preferred 

Paraprofessional Job Summary:

• Assisting teachers in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities
• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher
• Monitors special education students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment

Paraprofessional Qualifications: 

• Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
• Experience working with students/children preferred 

Working Conditions:

• Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
