Job Summary:
The Student Success Coach will lead, support, and develop plans for students identified as needing specialized support for success. They will collaborate with building student support teams, Teaching & Learning, and Building Equity Leadership Teams to develop support plans for those who are experiencing academic, behavioral, social, and/or emotional challenges within the school environment. Plans of support will include goal-setting, progress monitoring, and data analysis of progress and performance. Along with support for students, this position will also assist staff with implementing strategies to help all students be successful within the classroom.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support for Students in Partnership with Teachers
Collaborate with teachers and administration to assist students who demonstrate behavioral, social and/or academic challenges in the classroom
Partner with staff to utilize a data-based problem-solving approach and evidence-based strategies to strengthen student engagement and support students with accessing core instruction
Assist teachers with the development and implementation of academic and/or behavioral support plans for targeted groups of students
Collaborate with teachers to plan, design, and co-teach mini-lessons during core instruction across content areas
Collaborate with teachers to assess and identify student needs to plan, design, and provide targeted small group instruction and interventions or enrichment
Participate in meetings to assist in identifying and coordinating intervention services

Support for Teachers & Staff
Participate in building student support teams
Support teachers with assessing and monitoring student progress
Support teachers by providing and gradually releasing additional targeted small group instruction and intervention or enrichment strategies to accelerate learning
 Facilitate professional learning for teachers and paraprofessionals about culturally relevant, evidence-based instructional practices
Support the integration of culturally responsive teaching practices
Support collaborative teams in their development of lessons and assessment measures to accelerate student learning
Create learning resources for teachers as needed and appropriate

Professional Responsibilities:

Ability to determine, prioritize, schedule, and complete complex job assignments and projects without supervision and within the time allocated.

Collaborating with others to improve professional practice and student achievement.
Caring for assigned district resources, equipment, and materials and reporting concerns regarding facility and equipment to designated supervisors.
Being knowledgeable of and adhering to all procedures and practices prescribed in the Teacher, Student, and/or Parent Handbooks.

Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Experience, at the secondary level with evidence of exemplary student achievement results.
Demonstrated skill in use of data to inform instructional decision
Demonstrated sensitivity and human relations skills.
Demonstrated willingness to be an open and active listener.

MN Teaching License
