Shakopee Public Schools is searching for three (3) Elementary Special Education (SpEd) Teachers, 1.0 FTE each
Current Elementary Schools with Openings:
Eagle Creek, Red Oak and Sun Path Elementary Schools
Job Summary:
Deliver direct and indirect Special Education services to students in a resource room setting, push-in services, andor co-taught classroom instruction; develop individual education plans (IEP); monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans; direct the work of Paraeducator(s).
Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student’s ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth, establish effective working relationships with students and parents, work collaboratively with other staff members.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS or willingness and ability to obtain a valid MN teaching license in Special Education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS
- NVCI (CPI) training preferred (district will provide if needed)
- Experience working with a variety of disabilities and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students. Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district
- Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
