Summary
This job is first open to employees of this agency who are in the Special Teacher classification and are otherwise eligible (with orientation and mobility certification) to apply. Description
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a current and valid Minnesota Special Education License or have the ability to obtain one by the start date.
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and background in orientation and mobility training with deafblind to blind/visually impaired and/or multi-challenged youth.
- Possession of a current and valid Minnesota Teaching License in the area of Special Education.
- Knowledge of Braille and American Sign Language skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk/stand/sit during the scheduled workday and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of the following:
- Ability to obtain assigned American Sign Language level within 4 years (classes provided on campus).
- Ability to complete Braille and Blind Awareness (classes held on campus).
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background check.
- Employees driving on MSA business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MSA’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Salary Range: $28.90 – $51.09 / hourly
