POSITION AVAILABLE:  Special Education Teacher (multiple positions)

POSITION AVAILABLE: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC), with placement at the ELC – New London located in New London, MN beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.  This site is currently know as the ELC Willmar.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Special Education Teacher identifies, designs, evaluates and provides individual educational instruction and programming for a small caseload of special education students with Paraprofessional support in the classroom.  In addition, SWWC provides professional development specific to Setting IV, offers New Teacher Center Coaching, and collaboration with our Due Process Specialist staff.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  Designs and implements appropriate educational and/or behavioral programs for students to meet specific needs and goals of the students; participates and conducts portions of the evaluations and observations to determine special education eligibility of students placed in the program and conducts periodic assessments to determine educational progress of the students; conducts and/or participates in IEP Meetings for students in the program; performs other duties as assigned. 
 
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree required.  Emotional/Behavior Disorder (E/BD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) licensure from MDE is preferred, but not necessary if willing or in the process of getting licensure.  Teacher will provide services to students in a self-contained, all day setting, collaborating with paraprofessionals and other member school district staff.  Must have good organizational and communication skills.
 
CONTRACT/SALARY:  185-day contract for 2024-2025 school year.  Beginning salary dependent upon education, qualifications and experience.  Excellent fringe benefits. Position to begin in August of 2024.
