SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – EBD

POSITION SUMMARY: Becker Intermediate School consists of grades 3-5. The current opening will focus on working with Setting 2-3 students. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for creating a program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with unique needs, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible. Special education case management includes preparation of IEPs, reports, assessment, and leading IEP team meetings. Professionalism, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach are essential when working with students receiving special education services to ensure their safety and growth and to help them understand and exhibit appropriate behaviors at school and in the community.

LICENSURE: Special Education Licensure through MDE is required, EBD license is preferred. Any special education licensure is encouraged to apply.  Will consider out of field licensure.
