 The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Attain program located at 401 Education Center in Chaska, MN.

The ATTAIN (Academics & Transition Tools to Achieve Independence for Students with Neurobiological Needs) Program serves students at our 401 Education Center location in grades 9-12. ATTAIN is an Autism Program. 

Description:

Special Education Paraprofessional, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days. 
 
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works Individually or in small groups. 
 
Job Summary:

Qualifications:
•          Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded).
•          Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
•          Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
•          Must pass a background check.
•          Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
•          The ability to obtain PCA/CFSS certificate.
