Position: Special Education Behavior Intervention Teacher- 5 positions available districtwide
This position is for the 2024-2025 school year. The first teacher duty day is August 26th, with new teacher workshop the week of August 19th.

Job Summary:
The Special Education Behavior Intervention Teacher, operating under a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) contract, is responsible for providing frontline support to students with behavioral challenges within a special education setting. This role focuses on implementing behavior intervention strategies to address and mitigate disruptive behaviors, fostering a conducive learning environment for students with diverse needs. While not engaged in due process procedures, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective behavior management plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- 5 years of experience in special education
- Strong understanding of behavior management principles
- Experience working with students with diverse behavioral needs in educational settings.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and due process procedures.
- Proficiency in conducting behavioral assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt intervention strategies based on ongoing data analysis and student progress.
