Compensation:
Salary schedule based on Teacher contract, previous teaching experience and education.

License Requirement:
Current Minnesota Pre K-12 School Social Worker License.

Position Summary:
Provide assistance to students and staff to help student’s function effectively in the school environment.
 
 Primary Job Functions:

  1. Provide consultation to building student support teams.
  2. Share resources and agency information with staff and families.
  3. Act as liaison between parents/family and school including conducting home visits.
  4. Support all students in the area of social, emotional and behavioral issues.
  5. Provide crisis intervention and prevention activities to both students and staff.
  6. Maintain student files and required district paperwork as it relates to individual student needs.
  7. Maintain data collection on support services provided to students.
  8. Assist in designing and shaping behavioral interventions for both students and staff
  9. Provide staff development for paraprofessionals as it relates to this position
  10. Knowledge and awareness and training of Minnesota Statutes as it relates to behavior (i.e. CPI, PCM and other required supports).
  11. Adhere to Minnesota Board of Social Work and the Minnesota School Social Workers Association Standards.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

 
Job Specifications (Education, License, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Required:

  1. Minnesota licensure as a Licensed Social Worker and a School Social Worker
  2. Solid knowledge and understanding of how to access outside/community resources and agencies to support families and staff.
  3. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  4. Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, Microsoft Word and due process system.
  5. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  6. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
