The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a Full-Time opening for a School Social worker at the 401 Education Center in the PRIDE program in Chaska, MN.

Description:

School Social Worker, 8 hours a day for 185 Contract Days. 

Provides direct and indirect social work services to students, as indicated on students’ Individual  Education Plans (IEPs). Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments, services, resources, and referrals. Services are designed to improve social skills, assist with problem-solving, provide behavior management skills, and understand how mental health issues impact students’ education. All the students have IEP’s.

Pay & Benefits: 

Starting pay for 24-25 School Year is $48,076 based on education and experience. Competitive and comprehensive benefits package available.

Job Summary:

Qualifications:

  • School Social Work License

  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.

  • Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Restrictive Procedures is required and provided by the District.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

  • Knowledge and experience providing direct social work service to special education students, as outlined in the Individual Education Plan.

  • Ability to provide direct social/emotional/mental health services, individual and group, to students.

  • Family engagement skills; knowledge of family systems theory.

  • Conflict mediation, crisis management skills

  • Ability to perform assessments for mental health, and crisis.
