Engage, connect, make a difference this summer by joining the Rising 9 Retreat team! 

The Rising 9 Retreat is designed as an enrichment opportunity for students interested in preparing for ninth grade academics and for meeting fellow freshmen at Lakeville North High School  and Lakeville South High School. Through a partnership with ISD 191 Burnsville Schools, we are offering a unique summer opportunity for our current eighth grade students who will enter 9th grade in Fall of 2024.  The Rising 9 Retreat uses engaging, interactive, and FUN collaborative lessons, including AVID strategies, as well as offers activities that strengthen critical thinking, organization, and study skills.

As a teacher with the Rising 9 Retreat summer program you will be ccontributing to a high-functioning collaborative team who will provide learning opportunities to the students who attend the program. 

Position Description/Qualifications:

  • Plan and deliver experiential learning opportunities.
  • Value and honor all students and adults for their strengths, and work from students’ assets.
  • Exemplifies a growth mindset and is passionate about providing all students with access to opportunities for learning in a highly engaging learning environment.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a 5-12 or a 7-12 Math teaching license in the state of Minnesota.

Schedule/Hours

  • Program Dates – June 24 through June 27, 2024 and July 8 through July 11, 2024
    • Student Time: 8am to 12:30pm
  • Teacher time: 7:45am to 12:45pm
    • 10 hours of paid planning time (some with other Rising 9 educators and some on your own) will be provided.

Salary

  • $40 per hour; in accord with Education Minnesota Lakeville
