Position Title: Q Comp Site Advisor – Sunrise River 
 

Job Description: Provide leadership, support, and communication to licensed staff at specific sites to ensure Q Comp plan implementation. 
 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed North Branch staff on teacher contract.
  • Tenured with at least three or more years of teaching experience.
  • A commitment of serving a possible three years in the position.
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Experience in peer coaching and/or mentoring.
  • Proficiency in working with computerized documents and technology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective peer classroom observation skills.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate site Q Comp advisory teams
  • Assure that plans and procedures align to the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Meet with site PLC leaders to provide professional development training and support.
  • Participate in site specific district improvement efforts Ex: RtI, Curriculum Development and Mapping, AYP, District Staff Development.
  • Work collaboratively with site leadership to establish timelines and professional development activities.
  • Provide site specific monitoring and support concerning PLCs progress and on individual professional growth plans (PDP).
  • Consult with site administrator(s) to address accountability and consistency with implementation requirements and procedures.
  • Provide monthly updates to the district Q Comp advisor, district Q Comp advisory committee, site administration, PLC leaders and licensed staff on progress, training and resource needs, and issues as they arise.
  • Complete classroom observations, as needed.
  • Compile site documentation of progress as required by MDE.
  • Attend district and MN Department of Education Q Comp meetings and training sessions.
  • Facilitate North Branch site professional development sessions.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and leadership training.
     

Hiring Process:

  • Position will be posted internally for one week.
  • All licensed staff will receive an e-mail notification of open positions.
  • Licensed staff will apply online.
  • Qualified applicants will be selected and interviews will be conducted by a site Q Comp interview team under direction and leadership of the principal.
  • The interview team recommendations will be forwarded to the superintendent by the principal for approval.
     

Evaluation:

  • A self-reflective evaluation will be completed by each site advisor.
  • Performance evaluations on the site advisor will be completed by PLC team leaders and site administrators.
  • The teacher development coordinator will review the site advisor’s teacher observation data for accurate understanding of focused observation evidence and consistent communication of performance indicators.
  • The district Q Comp advisor and the administrator working with Q Comp will review monthly electronic records on site implementation plans and updated PLC team records.

Salary Augmentation:

  • $6,750
  • An option of 1 –2 days per month for a substitute teacher from October –April to provide release time to conduct observations, to plan and prepare for PLC teams, and to work with site PLC leaders and district Q Comp advisors.
