INTERNAL POSTING

PARAPROFESSIONAL MENTOR PROGRAM

MAX OF 5 MENTORS PER SCHOOL

1 YEAR COMMITMENT

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of ParaPro Exam or Associates of Arts Degree/60 Semester credits
  • Willing to commit to a one-year position
  • Demonstrates strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in 1:1 and small group settings to reinforce academic lessons
  • Self-directed, collaborative, organized, flexible, and supportive
  • Proficient in guiding students on proper classroom behavior

Responsibilities:

  • Introduce and orient mentees to the school/department/grade levels

  • Follows and reviews all items on the New Paraprofessional Orientation

  • Meets with mentee twice a month for questions, answers, & discussion based on effective student intervention strategies

  • Coordinates mentee to observe another paraprofessional three times during the school year

Stipend: 
$150 per Mentee up to $600.00 for the School year
