Position Overview: On-call Preschool teacher will fill in for planned or unplanned teacher absences within the Early Childhood program at Spring Lake Park Schools. Assignment could include a preschool or an ECFE classroom, depending on the need that day. 

Substitute teacher duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Implementation of Early Childhood curriculum per classroom teacher’s lesson plan
  • classroom management
  • collaboration with other preschool staff
  • parent communication, as needed 

Licensing Requirements
Current Minnesota teaching license or Substitute teacher license is required; 
Preferred licensure in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 3), Pre-Primary (Age 3-Pre-K) or Pre-kindergarten (Pre-K)

    Qualifications: 
    *Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
    *Ability to use current, effective, hands-on early childhood teaching methods
    *Ability to build positive relationships with students that result in high levels of student engagement in learning
    *Firm belief and practice in positive behavior management

    Preferences: 
    *Demonstrates excellence in collaboration with colleagues
    *Enthustic to work with students
    *Previous experience working with children ages birth-5
    *Knowledge of child development/ECIPS.
     
    Salary
    Hourly pay, highly competitive for the region.
