Description:  Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a long-term substitute Multilingual Learner Teacher. This is a .8 FTE position (.4 at Roseville Area Middle School and .4 at Emmet D. Williams Elementary) starting August 26, 2024, through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
 

Required Qualifications:  A Minnesota Teaching License in English as a Second Language (K-12) is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Additional licensure in other core content area fields
  2. Cross-cultural experience – especially with Latino, Karen, Nepali and Somali students
  3. Experience at the middle school level
  4. Literacy instruction experience
  5. Knowledge and willingness to co-teach with content teachers
  6. Strong collaboration and problem solving skills for working with EL and academic teams
  7. Ability to identify and model academic language related to content and provide meaningful opportunities for student language production
  8. Strong classroom management skills
  9. Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
  10. Experience with EL administrative duties including testing, monitoring students, scheduling, etc.
  11. Excellent organizational skills

Salary: Minimum full year, full time starting teacher salary is $49,171 (prorated based on FTE) plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance.  Placement on the salary schedule is per teacher contract guidelines.
