Description
Required Qualifications: A Minnesota Teaching License in English as a Second Language (K-12) is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Additional licensure in other core content area fields
- Cross-cultural experience – especially with Latino, Karen, Nepali and Somali students
- Experience at the middle school level
- Literacy instruction experience
- Knowledge and willingness to co-teach with content teachers
- Strong collaboration and problem solving skills for working with EL and academic teams
- Ability to identify and model academic language related to content and provide meaningful opportunities for student language production
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
- Experience with EL administrative duties including testing, monitoring students, scheduling, etc.

Salary: Minimum full year, full time starting teacher salary is $49,171 (prorated based on FTE) plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance. Placement on the salary schedule is per teacher contract guidelines.
