Summary
Description
This is an hourly position. Some flexibility in hours will be considered depending upon the needs of the students. Students will be in the building 8:30am to 3:00pm. The average workday is 7:30am to 3:30pm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor student behavior within assigned school spaces while participating in intervention and accountability programs, intervening when necessary in order to maintain a safe, calm, positive environment.

Confer regularly with staff team regarding student behavior and overall outcomes and success of the programs.

Assist with school-wide efforts in decreasing student suspensions and increasing school attendance and student retention.

Complete all required documentation, data entry, and reporting regarding student discipline issues.

Monitor referral data within Cpath’s data collection system, and compile and report outcomes for MTSS.

Effectively communicate with all staff and families regarding follow-up on student discipline issues.

Establish and maintain appropriate, meaningful professional relationships with students and families.

Attend school community events, family nights, and other related functions.

Collaborate with teachers as necessary to assist students to meet learning goals.

Work with students one on one or in small groups to improve understanding and work completion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent is required with 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience working with youth (inner-city setting preferred), families, and community members.

Access to reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Prior knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care and restorative justice.

Adept at de-escalating stressful situations and student behavior concerns.
-
Ability to work effectively with a team.
-
Strong level of competence in computer applications and can use these resources effectively.

Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
-
Skilled in developing relationships with youth and families that foster academic success.

Able to work occasional evening and weekend hours if necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEP), 504 Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) is preferred.

Behavior Intervention Specialist certification preferred or to be completed upon hiring

Valid driver’s license
