Middle School Counselor

Summary of Duties:

Mankato Area Public Schools currently has an opening for a licensed school counselor at Prairie Winds Middle. School Counselors serve a vital role in supporting the whole child. We are seeking candidates that support inclusive, equitable, and safe learning environments. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Counsel students related to concerns about academics, careers, or social emotional concerns

• Lead SEL classroom/group lessons

• Help students process problems and plan goals and actions related to student support

• Support student conflict mediation needs

• Refer students and families to mental health resources

• Collaborate with school social workers and school psychologists in support of student needs (SEL, Attendance, Resources, Assessments, etc.)

• Case manage 504 plans
   

Qualifications Required:  
MN licensure in School Counseling
