Mental Health Practitioner Extended School Year (ESY)

WORK DAYS:  Staff Work Day: June 4; Student Days: June 5-7, June 10-14, June 17-18 and June 20-21; Monday – Friday.
WORK HOURS: 

• ECSE – 8:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
• Elementary – 7:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
• Middle School – 8:45 a.m.- 1:15 p.m.
• High School – 9:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
• Phoenix, & Von Wald – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• RAIL – 7:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

LOCATION: TBD
SALARY:  Employees contracted hourly rate

REPORTS TO:  Principal/Assistant Principal, Summer School Coordinator and/or Special Education Administration

OTHER INFORMATION:  Multiple positions available

We believe that all students can learn and that motivating students is an essential part of teaching.  Students in these programs are invited to participate because they are at risk of not meeting proficiency. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous ESY experience preferred.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Successful special education teaching background required.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Understanding of Best Practices as related to teaching basic skills.
• Familiar with students at the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Most ESY programs involve some bending and lifting.
• If you are not available to work the entire ESY session, you will be responsible for securing a substitute for the days you are absent.
