Hiawatha College Prep – Northop (HCPN) seeks a hard-working, passionate, and goal-oriented Math Teacher who is aligned with our Hiawatha’s Mission, All Hiawatha scholars will be empowered with the knowledge, character, and leadership skills to graduate from college and serve the common good, and Hiawatha’s Equity Vision: To honor the humanity of all people, we actively disrupt systemic inequity in pursuit of an equitable world.

Job Summary
Every HCP-N teacher is on a team that is motivated, mission-driven teammates who are committed to taking responsibility for their students’ learning. Hiawatha teachers are charged with providing a rigorous, fast-paced, and inspiring learning environment for their students. 
In addition to leading courses in their content area, HCPN teachers will also lead Crew:  adults committed to supporting a small group of students as they work to develop their academic and social-emotional selves.  Crew teachers will be critical in the HCPN model of student support and will help monitor students’ academic success.
The Math Teacher will work under the guidance of the Instructional Leadership Team and in close collaboration with their grade level team, department team (PLC), and fellow HCP-N colleagues.

Hiawatha Employment Logistics

  • Hiawatha College Prep students’ school day is from 7:45am-2:45pm, Monday-Thursday and 7:45am-1:00pm on Friday.
  • Staff must be present from 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, or until all duties are completed for the next day. 
  • Professional development sessions are held each Friday from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
  • All Hiawatha Staff are expected to attend and participate in all family events at the school.
