Manufacturing and Transportation Careers Instructor
 

Qualifications

  • Current MN CTE  license in Manufacturing Careers and Transportation is preferred/or the ability to obtain these licensures.

  • Experience with teaming preferred

  • Experience with career academies is strongly preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work  and lead positively and constructively within teacher teams

Purpose 

Provide quality instruction in manufacturing careers using the Siemens STEM curriculum. Teach transportation careers and help develop the transportation pathway by working with industry partners.

Use a variety of assessment strategies – diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning. A strong focus on positive relationships and the ability to work with varying student abilities is a must.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities 

 

Detroit Lakes High School is currently seeking applications for a 1.0 FTE Manufacturing Careers and Transportation Careers instructor for the 2024-2025 school year. Desired candidates may have a background in teaching Science, Mathematics, Technology Education, or industry-related experiences relevant to these fields. This position works closely with our Work Based Learning Coordinator and industry partners to provide students with opportunities to explore STEM-related and transportation careers. 

Other preferred qualifications include; the ability to communicate and connect with students and families; team building skills; the ability to collaborate with staff; and possessing positive interpersonal skills. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current MN CTE licensure in Manufacturing Careers and Transportation Careers is preferred or the ability to obtain these licensures.
